It's basically 'why' and 'red' put together and it's pronounced as separate words... why red.
The story behind the brand's name comes from Roland Hjort, one of the designers of Whyred. His grandfather, Sven X:et Erixon, a Swedish artist was asked what his favorite color is. Perplexed he said red with no reason behind it. The interviewer then asked,"Why red?" Sven retorted, "well, blue then." The grandson, Roland, picked up on this banter to name his brand many years later.
Personally I love the simplicity of this brand. Details are in the construction and cut... and Whyred's tees are some of the softest finest cottons I've felt so far. It's like the tee is floating on your body... And the Sid Jeans make anyone look smart!
